Vintage Amiga Games: The 16-bit Era
Date Range: 1985 - 1996+
The Amiga was several generations ahead of the competition in 1985 in almost every aspect of the machine. This lead to some impressive application in the video market place such as Lightwave 3D. However, these impressive systems also lead to very impressive games. In fact, there are still games being made today for the Amiga platform.

Game Description: You are an average Joe starting off in New York with a dream to earn massive amounts of money and maximise prestige while accomplishing story-based missions.
Side quests are also available for pay as well as being able to compete in the arena for more money and prestige.

Game Title: Back to the Future Part II

Game Description: Back to the Future III is a collection of four acts.
In this game series, Marty McFly and Doc Brown are back in 1885. This game takes four scenes from the Hollywood movie Back to the Future III and turns them into arcade sequences:
1) Buckboard Chase: Doc Brown goes horseback riding to save Hill Valley's lovely school teacher Clara. You get.
2) Shooting Gallery: This is a simple aim-and-shoot game with hidden extras and bonus targets.
3) Pie Throwing: Well, it may seem unfair, but it is a lot of fun. The Mad Dog has guns and you have pies, tasty pies.
4) The Train: This act offers fighting sequences. Get rid of the mechanics and collect speed logs to push the engine to a magic 88 mph.

Game Title: Back to the Future Part III

Game Description: Back to the Future II is a collection of five arcade and puzzle games.
Based on the second installment of the popular Hollywood series Back to the Future, this movie conversion has Marty McFly and Doc Brown travel through time to stop their arch-rival Biff from changing the future. The game consists of five parts, each inspired by one of the movie's most memorable scenes:
* Hoverboard Chase: A Paperboy clone without newspapers, but with isometric levels and lots of enemies to dodge.
* Jennifer Rescue: Guide Marty's girlfriend Jennifer out of the house without her meeting one of the four family members. Open and close doors to make the persons go from one room to the next in this top-down puzzle sequence.
* Beat Biff: A side-scrolling beat-em-up sequence in the tradition of Double Dragon. Fight your way through a grim 1985 by jumping, hitting and kicking at Biff's lackeys.
* Band Puzzle: Rearrange the mixed-up parts of an animated picture of the school band in this sliding block puzzle. The clock is ticking.
* Hoverboard Chase 2: Another hoverboard sequence, similar to the first one, only this time set in 1955.

Game Description: Game play involves beating the living daylights out of many enemies to complete the level. Once the level is complete, you move on to the level's boss.

Game Description: Bad Street Brawler is another fighting game. You play the role of an unproportionally large man with huge arms and legs, who goes about wiping the streets with scumbags.
Survive ten levels of super-ridiculous moves and punches, kicking the crap out of everyone and everything you see and you win.

Game Title: Ballistix

Game Description: Psygnosis' Ballistix is an arcade game in which you have to manipulate a ball in order to score a goal with your opponent. Sound simple eh? Well, there is always a catch.
You get to control an arrow which defines direction and pressing the fire key will launch a ball from this arrow in the direction the arrow points to. The ball doesn't always seem to follow the arrow as designed, though we have been told this is a problem with the user. Oh, and watch out for the obstacles.

Game Title: Bandit Kings of Ancient China

Game Description: In the 12th century, the Emperor Hui Zhong is faced with an internal rebellion led by Imperial Minister Gao Qiu. The Song Dynasty came to an end and Gao Qiu became the new ruler.
You play the role of the exiled ruler. Your mission is to build your stats up to be able to challenge and of course, destroy Gao Qiu in order to restore Hui Zhong to the throne.

Game Title: Banshee

Game Description: There are lots of big, brash enemy vehicles to take on plus individual soldiers. When the soldiers are killed, they lie in a pool of blood, which s a gruesome sight. Many of the enemies have good hiding places and seem to come out of nowhere.
The game has four large levels that scroll a small amount horizontally, which should help you a little in evading the enemy.

Game Title: Base Jumpers

Game Description: Players run up to the top of towers trying to combine three letter pickups to collect plain daft bonuses like 500 different three letter combinations and then jump off the building and base jump down the outside.
The last player to avoid hitting the building and successfully open their parachute before becoming pavement art wins the round.

Game Title: Batman Returns

Game Description: Gotham City is rampant with crime. Oswald Cobblepot, known as The Penguin, is planning more mayhem and has a plan to take over the city. His loyal army of missle-packing Penguin Commandos and the bizarre Red Triangle Circus Gang trained and ready to carry out his plans.
Your job is to prevent his plans from coming true. After beating your enemies, conduct interrogations to learn more about the Penguins plans.
Use the Batcave computer to input clues, analyse evidence, and review enemy bios. You also have a healthy supply of weapons as well. Stock Batman's Utility belt with enough heat to match the diverse fighting styles of The Penguin and his cohorts.

Game Description: This has to be a classic. Battle Chess is responsible for many people who would have never played the game to pick it up.
The game has the same rules as the board game. How it differs is what happens when a piece is taken. Both pieces do battle and with the outcome already determined based on whichever player had their piece captured.
The Amiga platform offered the greatest level of detail due to its extensive colour pallet.

Game Description: Zitz, Rash and Pimple are three toads with unique fighting abilities similar to those of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Now these guys like to party. Unfortunately, one night they get distracted by a dancer who happens to be the Dark Queen. Well, everything goes down hill from there. Your mission is to chase the Dark Queen and rescue Rash and Pimple.

Game Title: Battlezone: Rise of the Black Dogs

Game Description: Climb into a hover tank and battle Soviets as well as the aliens on the moon in this odd game. Your mission is to command fleets of tanks against the Soviets and win the war.
The game offers three modes:
1) Arcade mode: fight ever increasingly difficult waves of enemies.
2) Story mode: pilot where you are told exactly what your orders are.
3) Strategy mode: build units and send them off to do battle for you.

Game Title: Beneath a Steel Sky

Game Description: Futuristic Australia is a country of many giant cities owned solely by corporations and separated by a giant wasteland known as The Gap.
When Robert Foster's Gap-dwelling tribe is killed by soldiers from Union City, he narrowly escapes from the helicopter bringing him there as it inexplicably crashes. As Robert, you must search the decaying city attempting to befriend both the snobby rich and the frustrated poor as the two attempt to get out of the city.

Game Description: As Ben E Factor, you must travel through the six moons of Minniat on which the peaceful and good-natured people of Lullyat have been kidnapped.
Each man has a unique skill. Make sure to release them in the right order to take advantage of that particular skill. Some of the men have grey suits, which marks them out as joyless and awkward characters which must be guided through a coloring machine.
You must watch out for various obstacles such as slugs, Rock Men, spiked teeth emerging from manholes, and so on.

Game Description: Best of the best championship karate is a realistic karate game.
Your fighter has three is based on strength, stamina and resistance and you have as many as 55 different moves.
Training your fighter in the gym before the fight will improve your strength, stamina and resistance.

Game Description: This is a fairly poor game, but there weren't that many Amiga fishing games to choose from.
While there were not many fishing games during this time, this game plays awfully.

Game Title: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure

Game Description: Based on the movie about two slackers, Bill & Ted- Rufus, a time travelling dude from the future, use the time travelling phone booth to go back in time to many different eras collecting items and getting historical dudes to follow you.
However, some dudes won't come unless you can bribe them with the right object. You must get them to follow you back to modern times so you can pass a history report and keep your band together.
At the end of the game, you are graded based on time elapsed and dudes accumulated. Oh and for the time paradox, yeah, let's say its out of scope for this movie.

Game Description: You have a bionic arm that extends and contracts allowing you to grab on to fixed objects to swing around and climb up levels.
Your mission is to infiltrate the enemy fortress and find Super Joe and then take out the evil leader Generalissimo Kilt.

Game Title: Black Lamp

Game Description: Your goal is to find and collect several coloured lamps and bring them back one at a time to a case located in the first room.
Collect several bonuses along the way while fighting off many creatures along the way. The ultimate goal is to bring all the colored lamps back to the case, including the elusive Black Lamp.
